Health Sandbox
Health Sandbox lets Australian private health businesses test a clinical, operational, financial, workforce or AI change on synthetic patients and data before it reaches real patients, staff or money. Test the change before it reaches the patient.
Overview
Every health business makes changes that carry real risk: a new AI scribe, a move to bulk billing, longer appointments, a second site, a new nurse practitioner. Most are decided on gut feel and a spreadsheet. Health Sandbox gives you a safe place to try them first. You build a pretend version of your service, with its sites, rooms, staff, fees, demand, systems and synthetic patients. Then you run the change and see what happens. You can test at three sizes: Sandbox. Model your whole service, such as a two-site clinic before the second site opens. Boondie. Run one focused test inside a sandbox, like “Does this AI scribe leave things out?” or “What happens if we bulk bill?” Combined boondies. Run several changes together to see the joint effect, such as an AI scribe, longer appointments and a new NP all at once. Every result covers the same seven areas: patient access, clinical safety, workforce, operational capacity, financial sustainability, compliance and governance, and implementation confidence. Numbers are calculated by code, not guessed by AI. Evidence is dated and cited against Australian law, Medicare and standards. A person signs off anything that matters. Teams can run live sandpit sessions together in a browser, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Each session ends with a downloadable results pack containing the report, assumptions, evidence, confidence levels and sign-off. Health Sandbox is built for all of Australian private health: general practice, nurse practitioners, specialists, allied health, dental, pharmacy, telehealth, mental health, aged care, NDIS, private hospitals, cosmetic clinics, Aboriginal community-controlled services, and rural and remote services. It’s also for vendors who need to prove their AI is safe. It’s built by a nurse practitioner who has run clinics and taken one through national accreditation. Health Sandbox is part of the Black Health Intelligence ecosystem. If you decide to name Abe publicly, add this line to the long version: “Connected to the Abe AI regulatory corpus for cited, current evidence.
The problem it solves
Australian health businesses make high-risk changes on gut feel and a spreadsheet: bringing in an AI scribe, moving to bulk billing, adding an NP, opening a second site, changing appointment lengths. The first real test is on real patients, real staff and real money, and when it goes wrong the patient pays first. No Australian tool combines practice modelling, billing and workforce simulation, patient-access modelling, clinical governance and AI testing in one place. Clinics either guess or pay consultants for a one-off report. Health Sandbox lets them test the change on synthetic patients first, and see the impact on safety, access, staff, capacity, finances and compliance before anything goes live.
Who it's for
Every part of Australian private health: general practice, nurse practitioners, specialists, allied health, dental, pharmacy, telehealth, midwifery and women’s health, mental health, aged and home care, disability and NDIS providers, imaging and pathology, private hospitals and day surgery, cosmetic and skin clinics, complementary health, Aboriginal community-controlled services, and rural and remote services. It also serves health-tech vendors who need to prove their AI is safe, plus educators, researchers and funders who need defensible evidence before backing a change.
